“Barbara – Il coraggio della fede”

This is a movie about Saint Barbara's life made by the parrish of Saint Barbara in Paternò, Italy.

“Santa Barbara”

This story of St. Barbara was produced and broadcast in several episodes by the Italian TV station RaiUno. The last scenes, containing Barbara's martyrdom and execution, can be found here: movie clip (AVI format, 103.8 MB)

Barbara is whipped in public, but refuses to give up her faith. When the governor threatens to make her a prostitute and to give her to his soldiers, her father steps in and kills her—in contrast to the legend, not in a rage, but to protect his and her honour.
